“I’ve never looked at myself this way before, maybe never seen myself”.

Recently I had the privilege of meeting the lovely Angharad Thompson Rees (Harry), a creative writer living in the Northern Beaches of Sydney.

She was asked to be our model for a creative photoshoot for a group of photographers, lead by the wonderful Creative Coach, Cindy Cavanagh, and we set up at Fairy Bower near Manly at sunrise. The shoot was fantastic. Harry moved effortlessly into the water, swam for us and floated with flowers. Ideas had come to fruition. We were making art.

After editing some of those photos, I was thrilled to be able to send some to Harry but what took me by surprise was the message I received back.

She said:

“Oh!

My!

God!

My heart! These are just so beautiful I could cry!

Those colours, the composition, the emotion - they really ‘feel’ if that makes sense. I’m actually blown away.

On a personal level, I’ve never looked at myself this way before, maybe never seen myself. They feel so true.”

I was blown away by this comment and yet I feel every woman can relate.

In the busyness of our daily lives, it's easy to become immersed in routines and obligations, forgetting to pause and truly see ourselves.

But have you ever noticed how a photograph can capture something a mirror can't quite grasp? A photo doesn’t just show how we look physically, but the energy we radiate, the vibes we give off, and those little quirks that make us uniquely us. It's the real deal, raw and genuine. A little reminder to say: "You're pretty awesome just as you are!"

Let's capture those moments that make us go, "Wow, that's me!" Embrace the journey, love the process, and remember: you're a work of art, and each photo is a masterpiece in the making. Keep shining brightly!
