I have a handful of places that I love to take family photographs that are amazing at golden hour. That doesn't mean that we can't go to YOUR favourite place - I am more than happy to have suggestions. Here are a few images of my favourite places and why I love them.

Locations

Castle Hill Heritage Park

Why I like it so much:

* Look: Always so green/ tall trees & grass

* Usually not busy/not well known

* Loads of space for kids to run around (where parents can still see them)

* Playground for afterwards

Lake Parramatta Reserve

Why I like it so much:

* The look: Tall trees background, textured rocks and water (more ideal for older kids)

* Small area of long grass too

* Very Australian bush setting

Rouse Hill Regional Park

Why I like it so much:

* The Look: Backgrounds of both long grass and tall trees

* Logs for kids to climb on

* Lots of space for kids to run without worrying too much about cars

* Ease of parking

* Please note: Weekends are crazy busy here so best to choose a weeknight if you want to go here

Macquarie Park, Windsor

Why I like it so much:

* Look: River with sandbank, some higher grasses and tall trees

* Great spot for 'beach' shots without going out of the Hills

* Go for a swim if you like or dip your feet in

* Not usually too busy

* Not far from the carpark

Balmoral Beach, Mosman

Why I like it so much:

* Sydney's iconic beach

* Kids always end up in the water and plenty of space for kids to run around

* Easy to find, usually plenty of parking at sunset
